"Money down the Drain"

It amazes me at the lengths people will go to get information on how to do something and spend absolutely no time 'applying' the information received.

As a marketing consultant, I am constantly being called upon to provide strategy regarding business. It would amaze you to know that not everyone that employs our company actually takes our advice and counsel.

A former clients comes to mind. They were afraid of doing anything that took them outside of their comfort zone. No matter how many times I would try to assist them, they always ends up reverting back to doing what's familiar and comfortable. The company has blown through hundreds of thousands of dollars, doing the same thing over and over again, failing to adhere to the wisdom that was given. They allowed fear to keep them bound to the mediocre and mundane. Although the money was good, I had to bow out and let them do what made them happy.

Have you ever had to push yourself past your comfort zone in business? What advice can you give to business owners who are leery of moving forward?

'....fools despise wisdom and instruction'. Proverbs 1:7b
